Simulation
Our program has a strong emphasis on simulation-based training. We offer a 3-day boot camp every July for incoming and current fellows and faculty alike focusing on procedural skills, clinical cases, and introduction to ECMO. We also conduct a monthly simulation lab that the fellows are required to attend.
Division Lecture Curriculum
The lecture curriculum is a half-day conference that occurs weekly on Thursdays. The conferences include educational lectures with speakers from within the division and invited external speakers, patient care review, journal club, morbidity and mortality, board review, simulation, and joint case reviews with pediatric emergency medicine and pulmonology. There is also a quarterly joint case conference with pediatric surgery.
Electives
We offer several elective rotations during fellowship. Fellows can opt to do rotations in the SICU (Trauma) or NeuroICU. Fellows also have an opportunity to attend a 3 day ECMO course, a 2 day PFCCS (Pediatric Fundamental Critical Care Support) course, and ATLS during their fellowship.
