Torrey D. Baines, MD, is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Pediatric Critical Care. He received his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Miami in 2001, and completed a combined residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. He continued his education at UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital for his fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care, after which he joined as faculty in July of 2010. During his fellowship, Dr. Baines’ research focused on control of the innate immune response by surfactant protein A. His current clinical interests include ingestions, snake envenomations, and environmental hazards.
